What ANGIBLOC ER is used for?
It is used,
- to treat high blood pressure (hypertension)
- in the long-term treatment of angina pectoris, to reduce angina attacks and to improve exercise tolerance
- for the treatment of stable, symptomatic heart failure of ischemic, hypertensive or cardiomyopathic origin
- to prevent migraine
Tell your doctor before taking ANGIBLOC ER, if you:
- are allergic to metoprolol Succinate, other beta-blockers or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
- suffer from severe bradycardia (decreased heart beats)
- suffer from second or third-degree heart block
- suffer from cardiogenic shock
- suffer from decompensated cardiac failure
- suffer from Sick sinus syndrome (unless a permanent pacemaker is in place)
Tell your doctor if you are taking or have taken,
- quinidine, propafenone, used in the treatment of irregular heart rhythm
- fluoxetine, paroxetine, used to treat major depressive disorder
- digitalis glycosides (e.g. digoxin), used for cardiac conditions
- clonidine, used to treat Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), high blood pressure
- calcium channel blockers (e.g. verapamil and diltiazem)
- Always take ANGIBLOC ER exactly as your doctor has told you
- Take once daily with a glass of water in the morning
- Swallow the whole medicine
- Do not chew or crush before swallowing
- The duration of treatment is determined by your doctor
If you take more ANGIBLOC ER
- If you have accidentally taken more ANGIBLOC ER, contact your nearest casualty department or tell your doctor at once
If you forget to take ANGIBLOC ER
- If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember, then go on as before. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten medicine
If you stop taking ANGIBLOC ER
- Do not stop taking ANGIBLOC ER without your doctor’s advice
Like all medicines, ANGIBLOC ER can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

- cold extremities, arterial insufficiency (usually of the Raynaud type), palpitations, peripheral edema, syncope, chest pain and hypotension
- confusion, short-term memory loss, headache, somnolence, nightmares, insomnia, anxiety/nervousness, hallucinations, paresthesia
- wheezing (bronchospasm), dyspnea
- reversible mental depression progressing to catatonia; an acute reversible syndrome characterized by disorientation for time and place, short-term memory loss, emotional lability
- agranulocytosis, nonthrombocytopenic purpura, thrombocytopenic purpura
- hypersensitive reactions like laryngospasm, respiratory distress
