What AMPHOLIP 10 MG is used for?

  • It is used to treat severe fungal infections such as blood infection with candida, aspergillus, cryptococcus, fusarium, zygomycetes, blastomycetes or coccidiodes or cryptococcal meningitis (inflammation of the brain)

Talk to your Doctor, if you:

  • are allergic to any of the other ingredients of this medicine
  • have kidney or liver problems
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine
  • Do not give this medicine to children less than 1 month of age
  • You should avoid driving a vehicle or operating machinery after treatment with this medicine, as it could affect your ability to drive safely

Tell your doctor if you are taking,

  • drugs which can affect your kidney function
  • zidovudine (used to treat HIV infection)
  • ciclosporin (suppress your immune system)
  • drugs to treat cancer
  • corticosteroids and corticotrophin (used to treat allergies and hormone imbalances)
  • digitalis glycosides (used to treat heart conditions)
  • flucytosine (used to treat fungal infections)
  • muscle relaxants
  • AMPHOLIP 10 MG must only be given by a doctor or nurse

If you take more AMPHOLIP 10 MG

  • You should tell your doctor immediately if you think you received too much
  • Symptoms of overdosage are: heart and breathing rates, kidney and liver function

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

  • difficulty breathing and/or feeling dizzy or faint
  • severe itching of the skin or raised lumps on the skin
  • swelling of the face, lips, tongue and/or throat, which may cause difficulty in swallowing
  • severe chest pain (heart attack)
  • encephalopathy (a disease of the brain, which may cause you to become confused or behave strangely, and/or feel drowsy)
  • chills, fever, nausea, vomiting
  • increased heart rate, irregular heartbeat, low or high blood pressure, low blood platelets, shaking
  • increased or decreased blood potassium levels (feel tired, confused, and have muscle weakness or cramps)
  • decreased blood magnesium levels (pins and needles, muscular pains, weakness or spasms)
  • injection site reactions, convulsions (fits), neuropathy (nerve disease)
  • flaking or scaling of the skin
  • excessive thirst and production of large amounts of urine
