No, AMOTID 500 CAPSULE is not used to treat cold, flu and/or other viral infections. It is only used to treat bacterial infections (affecting different parts of the body) which is also used to treat stomach ulcers when combined with other medicines in affected individuals.

AMOTID 500 CAPSULE works by inhibiting the synthesis of penicillin binding proteins which leads to activation of autolytic enzymes in bacterial cell wall resulting in lysis/destruction of bacterial cell wall thus preventing the spread of infection in affected individuals.
How long should I take AMOTID 500 CAPSULE?
Keep taking AMOTID 500 CAPSULE for as long as your doctor has told you to, even if you feel better to help fight the infection. It is not recommended to stop the medicine on your own without consulting your doctor as it may cause some undesirable effects.
