ADVENT 150MG INJECTION contains Amoxicillin and Clavulanic acid, which belong to the group of medicines called Penicillins and Beta-Lactamase Inhibitors. It is used in children for the treatment and prophylaxis of various bacterial infections (such as respiratory tract infections, which include pneumonia), acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, urinary tract infections (cystitis, urethritis, pyelonephritis), bone and joint infections (osteomyelitis), middle ear infections (otitis media), tonsillitis, sinusitis, skin and soft tissue infections such as cellulitis, boils, wound infections, intra-abdominal sepsis, dental infections, infections of genital organs in females.
Along with treatment with ADVENT 150MG INJECTION your doctor might order bacterial culture tests to enhance the outcomes of the treatment and in cases of prolong treatment with ADVENT 150MG INJECTION your doctor might conduct complete blood count, liver or kidney function test.
ADVENT 150MG INJECTION is not recommended for use in patients with severe kidney impairment, a history of liver problems or jaundice after taking penicillin antibiotics. ADVENT 150MG INJECTION should be used with caution in patients suffering from glandular fever (viral infection causing sore throat, high fever, swelling of salivary glands etc), liver disease, kidney disease, who are not passing urine daily, convulsions (fits) or large intestine inflammation.
ADVENT 150MG INJECTION is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless clearly necessary. ADVENT 150MG INJECTION should be used with caution in breastfeeding women as it may pass through breastmilk. ADVENT 150MG INJECTION should be used with caution in neonates, infants (less than 12 weeks of age). Consult your doctor before receiving ADVENT 150MG INJECTION. The most common side effects after receiving ADVENT 150MG INJECTION are diarrhoea, thrush (fungal infection), etc. Consult your doctor immediately in case any of side effects worsens.
ADVENT 150MG INJECTION help in treating bacterial infection where Amoxicillin works by inhibiting penicillin binding proteins (which are involved in the synthesis of bacterial cell wall) leading to activation of autolytic enzymes in the bacterial cell wall. Therefore, leading to lysis of the cell wall and death of bacterial cell and Clavulanic acid inhibits the activity of bacterial enzymes known as beta lactamases and hence enhancing the antibacterial activity of amoxicillin.
ADVENT 150MG INJECTION will be given to you only by a doctor or a nurse into a vein as an intravenous infusion or intravenous injection. Your doctor will decide the exact dose and duration of treatment for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
Stop receiving ADVENT 150MG INJECTION and consult your doctor immediately in case you experience:
Nausea, vomiting:
Receive the medicine, before meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oily or spicy food. Consult your doctor if your symptoms get worse or persist.
Itchy skin:
Avoid hot showers because hot water can irritate the skin and do not scratch the affected area. Apply moisturizing cream, Sunscreen and use protective clothing. Consult your doctor if your symptoms get worse or persist.
Diarrhoea:
Drink plenty of water or fruit juices to keep you hydrated. Don’t take any medicine on your own to treat diarrhoea. Consult your doctor if your symptoms get worse or persist.
Headache:
Rest and relax. Drink plenty of water and electrolytes. Apply a pain-relieving balm on the head if required. Consult your doctor if your symptoms get worse or persist.
