Canesten Powder contains clotrimazole which is used to treat fungal infections caused due to sweat and moisture by absorbing moisture at the site of infection. It gives relief from skin irritation, prickly heat, redness, itching, fungal infection and relieves from itching in intimate body parts, underarms, inner thighs, waistline and feet.
Clotrimazole works by killing the fungus which causes the infection. It also soothes prickly heat on the back, neck, and shoulder and discourages new fungal growth and prevents re-infection.
Along with the treatment, try to keep the infected area clean by washing it daily. Try not to share your towels and bathmats with other people, as it could prevent the spread of infection. In case of having athlete’s foot, always try to keep your feet and toes dry. Always wash your socks and tights thoroughly in hot water. It should be used with caution in pregnant or breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before using.
Canesten Powder may cause redness, swelling, itching, irritation, burning, blisters or peeling although not everybody gets them. If you experience any skin reactions, check with your doctor.
Can CANESTEN be used to treat pimples?
No. This medicine is only used to treat fungal skin infections such as athlete’s foot, ringworm, fungal nappy rash, fungal sweat rash and thrush.
Can I stop using CANESTEN suddenly?
No. Do not stop using this medicine abruptly without consulting your doctor as it may leads to recurrence of the infection.
