Transparent dressing allows for continuous visibility to the I.V. insertion site. It is adhesive and is gentle on the skin. Dressing flexes with skin for greater patient comfort.

1. Prepare the wound according to institution protocol. Allow all cleansing solutions and skin protectants to dry completely. 2. For Tegaderm dressing sizes in the original frame style, remove and discard the center cut-out piece. 3. Peel the printed liner from the dressing, exposing the adhesive surface. 4. View the site through the film and center the dressing over the wound.Do not stretch the dressing during application. 5. Slowly remove the paper frame from the dressing while smoothing down the dressing edges. Then smooth down the entire dressing, from the center out to the edges, using firm pressure to enhance adhesion. 6. Document dressing change information before removing the identification label from the frame. Apply the label to the edge of the dressing or directly on the skin.

1. Hemostasis of the wound must be achieved before applying the dressing.

2. Mechanical skin trauma may result if tension is applied to the dressing.
