India is one of the leading countries in gestation period care. However, the equal amount of care is not provided to the new mother especially after a C-section. The mother post delivery should be on a normal and high protein diet. In India, new moms are generally given soup and kichdi but they need extra nutrition. Include rotis, rice and vegetables. A healthy diet helps the mother recover quickly and also provides enough nutrition for the baby in the form of breast milk. Ensure adequate liquids to prevent dehydration as it can affect lactation.
