Often triggered by excess skin oil also known as sebum these skin problems cause scaly patches, red skin on the face, upper chest, back and mainly on the scalp. Other contributing factors include hormone imbalance, poor hygiene, post pubertal age. Young men are more prone to this condition than women.
Treatment options include using medicated shampoos, creams and lotions in seborrheic dermatitis. Intake of B Vitamins, Zinc and Omega 3 fatty supplements will help greatly in dealing with this condition.
