Uses of Lapatinib
Lapatinib is used to block the action of proteins that are responsible for metastatic breast cancer (cancer that has been spread to other parts of the body from breast). It is mostly used in combination with other anticancer or hormonal medicines (such as capecitabine, trastuzumab or anastrozole) to achieve better results.

How Lapatinib works
Lapatinib is an anticancer agent. It works by blocking the actions of certain cellular proteins (tyrosine kinase) that triggers cancer cell formation. It also blocks various downstream cell signalling pathways that triggers cancer growth within the body. As a result, it reduces cancer formation and prevents its further growth within the body.
