Dr Kapil Singhal explains that Parkinson’s disease is a progressive nervous system disorder that affects body movement. It starts with a tremor in limbs, hands or fingers, limiting movements, slowly compromising the quality of life. Since Parkinson’s is a degenerative disease, the symptoms worsen as the condition progresses over time. Other problems include sleep disorders, difficulty in eating, bladder problems and constipation. Parkinson’s cannot be cured but the progression of symptoms can be delayed with the help of medications.
