Arthritis is commonly known as inflammation of the joints. Rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis are the two predominant forms of arthritis. Rheumatoid arthritis is an auto-immune disorder affecting the membranes of the cartilage and joints. The patient feels stiffness in the joints leading to bone deformities. Other parts of the body like heart, blood vessels, eyes, skin and lungs are also affected due to arthritis. It is common among middle-aged people. Diagnosis involves imaging techniques and blood investigation. Anti-rheumatoid drugs are prescribed to cure rheumatoid arthritis.
