Dengue is a type of viral infection that is mostly caused by the viruses of DENV-1, DENV-2, DENV-3, and DENV-4 category which belongs to the Flaviviridae family. It is an acute febrile fever with an incubation period of 2-7 days. The common signs and symptoms include high persistent fever, accompanied with pain behind the eyes, muscle, bone and joint pain, body ache, headache, and skin rashes with a red spot. To prevent dengue fever, the best possible way is to avoid stagnation of water to hinder breeding of mosquitoes in your locality and use of mosquito nets, repellants and lotions that prevent mosquito bites.
